I also have to mention that I am thrilled to hear that Dark Eden Press made a good decision when we decided to use Paypal. We just opened in June (I’m one of the three owners) and some said that Paypal wasn’t necessary but we forged ahead anyway. We will evenutally be listed on Fictionwise as well but the authors and publishers accrue more profit from sales directly from their websites, so I am very glad we made the decision to become a Paypal verified site.

It had action, romance, and adventure; all well-balanced and relevant to the story. No part of the story felt gratuitous- adding an action or romance scene just to please the editor or reader.

Good advice. We’ve also begun to search out alternatives to the publisher’s sites. One of Fictionwise’s benefits is that they accept PayPal, whereas the publishers can’t. That’s a big benefit to the readers who don’t use credit cards.

I hope that Torquere figures out how to make their site more user friendly. Both they and Phaze should take a hint from Loose Id in how to make their sites and downloads easier and friendlier to access.

I find buying Torquere Press’s e-books easier at Fictionwise, which also has the advantage of the ability to download the book in another file format long after purchase. Torquere only allows you to redownload its books for three days from the time of purchase. I can download books I’ve purchase from Fictionwise and eReader years after purchase.
